Your Donations Go Where They're Supposed To Go

We help people reduce their Student Loan debt, by making it easier for them to reach out for support.

We provide an organized way to raise money for support, from a group of people you may or may not know.

The simple answer is: because using Unloan Me simplifies your crowdfunding/debt reduction experience.

Once you're setup, you don't really have to do anything except input contact emails and watch people help you.

We do pretty much everything for you. We receive your donations, then send the proceeds to your lender(s).

You have very little work to do yourself (maybe paste in some emails and hit send).

Crowdfunding is basically raising money from a group of people, to fund your cause.

We provide 2 mechanisms to help you do this.

  1. Provide you a public profile, to have people view, get more information about your background, and then decide whether or not to help you.
  2. Make it simpler for you to reach out to people you know, to seek support.

No. You don't have to register to help out.

There are, however, benefits to creating an account as a donor, such as:

  • Being able to review the history of your donations
  • Auto fill your info on donation checkout
  • See your Name on the Biggest Donors list
  • Take part in the Annual Donation Matching competition

Right now, for donations, there is a 4% fee.

In order to capture online payments, we have to pay our service provider fees.

On top of their fees, we add our processing and general business charge. This charge helps us stay in business and help you get your loan paid off.

We are always working to reduce this amount. The more volume we get, the more leverage we have negotiating the fees with our processing company.

Absolutely you can do this on your own...and you can, and should, ask for assistance yourself.

Use as many resources as you can to help reduce your debt.

Here are some other crowdfunding companies to add to your arsenal: GoFundMe, zerobound, ReadyForZero, and others here.

When you're in a pinch, you might be surprised how many people are willing to help you out.

You will receive an email as soon as someone donates to your account.

Probably. The simple answer is: if you get a monthly bill, pay it. Sometimes, however, a donation may be made for (1) an amount greater than the amount due and (2) the donation is made prior to your payment due date. In this situation, you may not have anything due during a particular payment period. Nevertheless, it would be to your advantage to assume you have a payment due.

Congratulations! When this happens, your user account will be closed from accepting payments, and your profile will be moved to the Successes section. Should you wish, we can remove your user profile completely (or you can always mark it private so it doesn't show on the public areas).

Also, remember to pay it forward and support others.

Oh yeah, you can still refer people to sign up for Unloan Me, using your email.

We freeze your ability to add/change loan info after your account gets its first donation. We do this in order to maintain the accuracy of your accounts and balances; and make sure no unnecessary processing needs to happen (i.e. contact a new lender, pay too much/little, send payments to wrong lender, etc.).

First, please be sure to enter accurate loan details. Entering inaccurate info benefits no one.

If, however, you enter something wrong, please just login, adjust, and save.

First, we try to catch this and contact you prior to any payments being sent to the lender. If you notice this, however, please contact us as soon as possible and we can update your account with the accurate lender info.

Additionally, we do our best to reconcile all payments made with their expected destinations. Should your donation not end up at the expected destination, due to inaccurate loan details, we will hold any donations in escrow and contact you in order to obtain the correct loan details. Once the loan details have been accurately updated, the donation in escrow will be immediately forwarded to the proper, intended lender.

Simple. The only goal of our system is to pay down your Student Loans.

We get a donation and send it to the lenders.

If we just sent you a check, you would or could:

  1. Have to send that to your lender yourself;
  2. Have to not be tempted to spend it on something else; and
  3. Possibly have tax implications.

Yep. If you have a Student Loan, with a legitimate lender, we can help you try to get donations.

We may be able to help you figure out what your outstanding balance is and what the payments will be, but you may want to wait until your first payment/statement arrives.

There may be a grace period post-graduation before you have to start paying.

However, it may help to get ahead of your payments.

If you have just graduated and have yet to receive information regarding your balance/payments, please contact us to discuss.
